Recently my major focus has been on checking this off my bucket list. Caravan trip had been on my mind since a while now. After doing a lot of research, I settled for booking a caravan from TrippyWheels. After reading there “About us” I was really inspired, two women Sanjna and Vathsala breaking the old norms of our country and bringing the culture of caravanning in India, they must have faced lot of challenges. I was really excited and looking forward to my first caravan trip with them.
They are based out of HSR Layout, Bangalore Karnataka. They have a well-planned system, they can pick you up from anywhere and you can rent their caravans and venture like a true nomad.
You can call them at +91-8197006211/ 7619372223 or drop a mail to them at firstname.lastname@example.org
I dropped an inquiry late at night and received a call back on the next day itself. They have a fast response system. They were courteous, well behaved and also explained everything properly and cleared some doubts I had.
We were picked up directly from Bangalore Airport itself. On a day before our trip, they had created a whatsapp group with all the required people.
Our driver and host for the trip was Umair. He was very warm and welcoming. We hopped onto our caravan at the airport in a hurry as parking at pick up point was not allowed.
Later when we stopped at the petrol pump he showed us around the caravan. He gave a very detailed explanation of where everything is. From making the beds to sofas, kitchen utensils, speakers and plug points he showed us everything.
Our ride and also the home was clean, well maintained and gave a very homey feeling. The bedsheets were neatly spread, cushions decorated and the quilt was properly folded.
The floor was tidy and also the kitchen utensils were all ready to use. The curtains were white in colour and gave a peaceful look to the caravan.
All the plug points worked and the speakers and audio device were also working fine.
The ceiling of the caravan was one of a kind. It had intricate designs of elephants and flowers on it.
The cost of renting of the caravan was Rs 5000 per night. It seemed reasonable as it included both the transportation and accommodation charges. It can easily accommodate 6-8 people.
The driver takes 400 bucks for 12 hours of driving shift and the fuel charges are borne by the customer only.
- Charging of phones, power banks, and laptops is available.
- JBL Speakers are present with varieties of connection like Aux, Bluetooth, USB, Tuner, etc.
- Campsites are provided by them where you can use the restroom facilities.
- Gas stove along with basic spices and kitchen utensils are available for cooking.
- The staffs are keen and just one call away.
Cleanliness and hygiene
The Caravans are very clean, maintained. They also had hung an air pocket just over the bed.
We stayed at the campsite of Agumbe, Hingara nature stay. It was located in the jungles of Agumbe, perfect for peace lovers away from the ruckus of the busy city life.
It was safe and the staffs were well mannered and took care of all our needs. They also conducted various activities like trekking, farm tours, etc. The food was traditional and good.
For fun and adventure
The journey in the caravan was an adventure in itself. Apart from that, they had many indoor and outdoor games like chess, flying disc and badminton.
To summarize, the trip was well organized, affordable and full of adventure and happiness. I would recommend everyone to plan their caravan trip with TrippyWheels.
