1. Rock garden

The world-famous Rock garden made by Nek Chand is a really innovative and admirable garden. He made sculptures from plastic and waste materials.

The garden has two phases and both should be visited. You have to walk around at least 3-4 hours to see everything but it’s really worth it.

2. Pinjore Garden

The garden has a Mughal architectural style. It was a summer retreat for Aurangzeb. The garden has seven terraces and the entrance is the biggest one.
The garden has many festivals like the Baishaki festival, Mango fair and Heritage festival.

Best time to visit the garden: October to April is the best time as summers can be very hot.
3. Rose Garden

The Rose Garden houses around 1600 varieties of roses. There are also some medicinal plants like camphor, yellow Gulmohar, bel, etc. The evening light and sound show is one of a kind and should not be missed.

The garden has its annual Rose Festival. Various competitions take place during this time.
Location: Jan Marg, 16B, Sector 16, Chandigarh
Timings: 6 am to 10 pm
Entry fee: Rs 50 per person
Best time to visit the garden: To see the roses in full bloom last week of Feb and the first week of March is the best time. Avoid summers, best to go in winter and spring.

4. Japanese garden

This is a themed garden with Japanese style structures. It consists of pagodas towers and also bridges. The entrance itself has two Japanese statues giving a warm welcome. The lawn is well maintained and also has good jogging track. They also have a meditation center with an idol of Buddha. The golden bamboo structures remind one of the medieval age.

Best time to visit the garden: October to March is the best time. Summers can be very harsh and hot.
5. Terraced Garden

It is the perfect place to enjoy an evening walk, have quality time with family and also for couples. The musical fountain show in the evening should never be missed. The sight is one to behold.
There are various flowers starting from common roses to exotic lilies. There is also a park for kids to play and enjoy.
Location: Sector 33B, Sector 33, Chandigarh
Timings: 6 am to 8 pm
Entry fee: None
Best time to visit the garden: In December the Chrysanthemum Show also known as Chandigarh Flower festival takes place takes place every year is the best time to visit this garden.
